Mixing Proportion Design for Self-compacting Lightweight Concrete Based on Mortar

The mixing proportion design method of self-compacting lightweight concrete( SCLC) is relatively complex in common. In order to increase the efficiency of design procedure,a new method is proposed based on the workability of self-compacting mortar. According to the principle of volume accumulation of the composition materials of mortar and all-calculation method,a kind of self-compacting mortar with good workability has been achieved. Lightweight aggregates were added into the designed mortar on the basis of the void of the aggregates excessive replaced by the mortar. Mixing proportion of SCLC is then obtained through this way. The test result shows that the SCLC designed by this method has good workability which can satisfy the requirement of self-compacting concrete. The mixture design efficiency of SCLC is greatly improved by this method.
