Intervention of Modified MaRen Decoction for Oral Administration and Foot Massage on Postoperative Abdominal Distension

Objective: To discuss the intervention of modified MaRen decoction for oral administration and foot massage on postoperative abdominal distention. Methods: All 42 patients were randomized to the treatment group and the control group, the treatment group took modified MaRen decoction and accepted foot massage on the foundation of routine treatment after the surgery, the control group received routine treatment, clinical effects, recovery time of intestinal gurgling sound, anal exhaust and the condition of defecation in both groups were observed in 24 and 48 hours after treating. Results: The conditions of anal exhaust and defecation in the treatment group were improved more significantly than these of the control group, the patients with postoperative abdominal distention who were cured occupied 90.5% in the treatment group and 42.9% of the control group, the difference was significant between both groups(P0.05). Conclusion: Clinical effects of modified MaRen decoction for oral administration and foot massage are satisfying in improving postoperative abdominal distention.
