Finite element analysis on axial impact response for solid rocket motor

Natural frequency and modal of solid rocket motor(SRM) were analyzed,the model was by means of transforming axial acceleration impact load into axial force load by big mass method.The dynamic response of SRM under axial impact load was calculated,and the calculated results agreed well with test results through contrast.It is proven that big mass method is applicable.Stress of motor case is bigger than that of other part,but far from the strength limit.Strain of propellant grain is bigger than that of other part,but the value is very small.
