Evaluation on storage reliability of solid propellant based on correlative failure modes

The nature storage data of CTPB propellant was analyzed.Through reliability model of correlative failure modes,the storage reliability of CTPB propellant was evaluated based on the change of tensile strength intensity,burning rate and density which can lead to propellant failure and the correlations among failure modes.The results show that reliable life of CTPB propellant is about 10 years.In consideration of the correlations among failure modes,storage reliability of CTPB propellant is more than that calculated with series model under mutually independent failure modes,and less than the smallest value under single failure mode,The results are appropriate and credible.
