Damage and shock sensitivity change of NEPE propellant under temperature changing conditions

In order to study the damage and shock sensitivity change of NEPE propellant under temperature changing conditions,propellant specimens were treated under temperature cycling,temperature impact and liquid nitrogen impact environments.The change of damage structure was characterized by mechanical property test,ultrasonic test and CT photography.The shock sensitivity of NEPE propellant before and after liquid nitrogen impact treatment was measured in gap test.The results show that NEPE propellant is damaged to some extent after temperature changing treatment.The damage degree increases with the strictness of environments.But the thermal damage of NEPE propellant has little effect on its shock sensitivity.
