Research on dispersion compensating property and nonlinear coefficient of photonic crystal fibers

A vector effective index model is used to analyze the dependences of the nonlinear coefficient and dispersion property on the structural parameters of photonic crystal fibers.It is possible to design dispersion compensating photonic crystal fibers(PCFs) with high dispersion value,negative dispersion slope and low nonlinear coefficient around 1550 nm.Simulation and analysis reveal that there are huge potentials in PCFs of high nonlinear flattened dispersion.
