Optical pulse compression based on dispersion-decreasing fiber and its progress

Optical pulse compression is one of the main methods for producing ultrashort optical pulses.In this paper, we review the methods, principles, and progress of optical pulse compression, including adiabatic soliton pulse compression, higher order soliton pulse compression, and compression in a nonlinear optical loop mirror ,which based on dispersion-decreasing fiber.It also introduce our latest work using a dispersion-decreasing-based Mach-Zehnder interferometer for optical pulse compression.
