Method to improve the spatial resolution of phase sensitive optical time domain reflection system

Phase sensitive optical time domain reflectometer(Φ-OTDR) is sensitive to external factors and has good detection effect on external disturbances. There are often more than one disturbing point in the detection scene, so it is necessary to improve the ability of the Φ-OTDR system to distinguish between two adjacent disturbance points, which is to improve the spatial resolution of the system. Aiming at this problem, this paper proposes a data processing method for improving the spatial resolution of the system is proposed based on theΦ-OTDR system which can detect the external disturbances correctly. Experiments show that the spatial resolution of the system using the new data processing method is higher than the theoretical spatial resolution of the traditional Φ-OTDR system.
