The pulse distortion in gain saturated semiconductor optical amplifier

In this pager, the affect of the self phase modulation effect in gain saturated semiconductor optical amlifier on the shape and phase of transmission pulse is analyzed,the focus is on the different pulse indexes (Gaussian pulse or super Gaussian pulses) and the different pulse widths (compare to the carrier lifetime).
