STUDY ON STRUCTURE TYPE OF SUBMERGED NOZZLE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING BILLET MOLD

XING Wei,SHEN Qiao-zhen (Materials and Metallurgy College, Wuhan University of Science and Technology,Wuhan 430081,China)  
Using flow field software PHOENICS and water model, this paper describes the flow field of molten steel in continuous casting billet mold. On the basis of flow field simulation, the effect of different types of nozzle structure on the flow patterns are calculated and examined with water model experiments. By means of this model, scientific basis for optimizing the flow field of molten steel in the mold and the design of submerged nozzle is established.
