Study on structure optimization of SEN for wide slab caster mold

In view of actual situation of wide slab continuous casting production,a 3-dimensional numerical simulation to illustrate the distribution of flow field of molten steel in the mold was made with the commercial software PHOENICS.The effects of different nozzle outlet angle,immersion depth of SEN and casting speed on the flow field were ascertained and suitable nozzle structure for the mold was established.The numerical simulation provides a scientific basis for optimizing the flow field and SEN structure design,as well as for choosing reasonable technological parameters for the mold.
