DETERMINATION OF Te(Ⅳ, Ⅵ) IN ENVIRONMENTAL SAMPLES BY EXTRACTION AND GRAPHITE FURNACE ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROMETRY

A sensitive, accurate and rapid method for the determination of Te(Ⅳ) and Te(Ⅵ) in environmental samples in the 10~(-9)g level by extraction and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry is presented. The conditions of determination and extraction, several matrix modifiers with respect to their stabilizing power for tellurium in a graphite thrnace are inverstigated. Possible interferences from cations and anions are tried and it is shown that their quantifies below certain limit do not affect the analyses of tellurium. The calibration graphs are linear in the range of 1 to 100 ng/g for tellurium. Characteristic content is 0.025ng and the relative standard deviation of 11 determinations for samples at ng/g magnitude is less than 6%, whereas the recoverys for Te(Ⅳ) and Te(Ⅵ) are 91.7～105% and 95～105% respectively.
