DETERMINATION OF Te ̄(4+) AND Te ̄(6+) UTILIZING HYDRIDE GENERATION FROM ALKALINE SOLUTION BY AFS/AAS

A new method for the differential determination of Te4+ and Te6+ by utilizing the hydride generation from alkaline solution is reported in this paper. In acidic solution only Te4+can react with NaBH.,while in alkaline solution both Te4+ and Te6+ can react with the reducing agent to form hydride.According to the results of the determinations in the acidic and alkaline solutions,the content of Te4+ and Te6+ can be obtained.The detection limit of Te is 0. 1 ng/ml (AFS).Some artificially prepared water samples were analysed and satisfactory results have been obtained.
