Research progress in antitoxoplasmic effect of artemisinin and its derivatives

Toxoplasmosis is caused by Toxoplasma gondii, an obligatory endoparasite. It has resulted in a worldwide epidemic,which seriously threats the health of human being. Up to now, there is not ideal medicine to treat toxoplasmosis. This article summarizes the research progress in the mechanism of action of antitoxoplasma effect of artemisinin and its derivatives by in vivo and in vitro experiments.
