The Improvement of Shape Memory Property of Fe-Mn-Si Alloy

This paper deals with the effect of deformation temperature and prestrain on shape recovery ratio of Fe-Mn-Si alloy. The results show that the shape recovery ratio decreases quickly when prestrain is bigger than 1.5%, but increases obviously after the sample being treated with thermomechanical cycles. The X-ray deffraction analysis result proves that mainly the more stress-induced ε martensite formed, contributes to the improvement of shape memory property of Fe-Mn-Si alloy.
