Fine Microstructure of Bainite

The structure of the studied steels was bainite, martensite and retained austenite. The investigation results discover that there were retained austenitic films with different appearances and sizes in bainitic ferritic laths. The boundaries of the different structural levels were separated and encircled by retained austenitic films. The fine structural units and their size were different structural levels in the bainitic ferrite were determined by retained austenitic films. The bainitic ferritic laths were composed of different structural level sublaths, subunits and elementary units (or so called subsubunits). The dimensions of mostly sublaths, subunits and elementary units were between 25~80nm, 25~80nm, 5.0~30nm respectively.
