Determination of Homogenization Process of 7050 Aluminum Alloy

The microstructure and mechanical properties of as-cast 7050 alloy homogenized under different conditions were studied by means of DSC,optical microscopy,EPMA,SEM and electronic universal testing machine.The homogenization process was determined.The results show that when the 7050 alloy was homogenized at 465 ℃ for 24 h,and then cooled in water at room temperature,the disequilibrium eutectic phase in the as-cast microstructure of the alloy transformed to homogenous microstructure,the element distribution was improved obviously,the elongation reached to 13.1% and the tensile strength reached 292.08 MPa.
