Hot Deformation Resistance Model of 316L Stainless Steel

The deformation resistance of 316L stainless steel had been systematically studied through high temperature compression tests on the Gleeble-1500 thermal simulation testing machine.According to the test,true stress-strain curves had been obtained,then the influences of deformation temperature and strain rate on deformation resistance had been investigated,and the hot deformation resistance model was established.The results show that 316L stainless steel was easy to work-hardening during hot deformation,and there was no peak stressσ_p on its true stress-strain curves.The temperature of 1 050℃was the characteristic temperature of hot working of the steel. When the deformation temperature was below 1 050℃,the decreasing amplitude of flow stress with the increase of temperature was significant.On the other hand,when the deformation temperature was beyond 1050℃,the influence of temperature and the decreasing amplitude was slight A mathematical model of deformation resistance had been built,σ=6.879exp(3 337.602/T)ε~(0.286)ε~(0.119),the model was proved to have excellent linear fitting and data stability after the measured and simulated values had been compared.
