Screening of yeast strains with alcohol-tolerance

Two alcohol-tolerant yeast strains,TM8 and TM23,were isolated from nature.The two strains could grow in culture medium with 9%(v/v) ethanol.The ability of TM8 about osmotic pressure-tolerance and acid-tolerance were more excellent than TM23.Using 150g/L glucose as substrate,the fermented alcohol concentration were 4.0% and 3.5%(v/v) by TM8 and TM23 respectively.
