Development of Synthesis of Acetaminophen

ZHAO Hai, WANG Ji-kang(Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering, Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou, 310014,China)  
The preparation methods of acetaminophen and its intermediate p-aminophenol were reviewed. Acetaminophen can be prepared by one-step,two-step, or rearrangement and biochemical method. It was pointed out that one-step method would be the best way for producing acetaminophen by compared one-step method with other methods.
