Interfacial Mass Transfer Resistance and Mass Transfer Model in Extraction of Zinc by Emulsion Liquid Membranes

The mass transfer resistance research of zinc extraction by emulsion liquid membranes using Lewis constant interfacial area cell has been conducted.The results show that there is about 85% of total mass transfer resistance concentrated on interface due to surfactant monomolecular layer. So, a simplified mass transfer model of zinc extraction by emulsion liquid membrane which considers the factors of interfacial resistance and membrane breakage has been adopted in this investigation.The agreement between calculated and experimental results is satisfactory.
