Eliminating pixelilation effect in electro-addressable spatial light modulator using beam shaping elements arrays

The influence on the quality of image displayed on spatial light modulator caused by the pixelilation effect, which is owing to the low fill factor in the electroaddressable spatial light modulator, is investigated. The novel method of clearing up the pixelilation effect utilizing phaseonly beam shaping elements arrays is proposed, and the basic principle of this method is analyzed. The main idea about designing beam shaping element by using GerchbergSaxton algorithms for phase retrieval is introduced, and the according beam shaping result is given. Theoretical analyses and simulating results show that this method can clear up effectively the black band between the neighboring pixels in the electroaddressable spatial light modulator.
