Design of high precision optical fiber polarization measuring system

The polarization crosstalk and h parameter of PM fibers and their relationships are introduced. The optical structure of high precision polarization system and polarization detection system are presented. The various factors that may influence measurement precision are theoretically analyzed. By using the instrument manufactured by ourselves, several PM fibers that are made in China are measured. The test results are satisfactory. The polarization crosstalk of 2 meter long PM fibers exceeds -50dB, which is the best result in the world.
