Optimal design of working wavelength and its bandwidth of a dual-wavelength fiber-optic colorimeter

A new kind of the practical dual-wavelength fiber-optic colorimeter using LiTaO_3 pyroelectric detector is presented. This instrument consists of three parts: optical receiving system, signal amplifying and controlling system, and display system. According to the relationships between various technical parameters and main specifications (temperature resolving power of the detector system, linearity and temperature measurement sensitivity of R(T)～T curves), an optimal parameter selection for determining two operating wavelengths and its bandwidth of this instrument is presented. The effects on temperature resolving power and measurement sensitivity by the two operating wavelengths and its bandwidth are analyzed. The temperature measurement accuracy is better than 0.20% at 400～1300℃, λ_1=2.1μm,λ_2=2.3μm and Δλ_3=20nm.
