Experiment of upconversion luminescence based on Er~(3+)Yb~(3+) codoped fiber gratings

Using 976.4nm LD pumping the Er~(3+)Yb~(3+) co_doped fiber gratings made by H_2_loaded and ultraviolet exposal, blue and green upconversion luminescence were abserved clearly under 4mW pump power. And with the increase of pump power, the intersity of upconversion luminescence increase. The wavelength of the upconversion luminescence was recorded with mono chromator and avalanche photodiode(APD) and green, blue, purple and ultraviolet light was detected. From the microscope photograph there aren't any upconversion luminescence in the same kind Er~(3+)Yb~(3+) co_doped fiber.
