A spatial modulation imaging spectrometer based on the Michelson interferometer is trial-developed successfully. One of the reflector in the Michelson interferometer is deflected a small angle,so that the sequential 1-D optical path difference is obtained between light waves of the two beams which were reflected by two reflectors. The spatial modulation interference pattern is acquired on the imaging sensor(CCD/CMOS),which is the principle of spatial modulation imaging spectrometer based on the Michelson interferometer.A series of experiments to verify the principle indicate that the principle is proper. The results of the experiments are agree with the theory. The imaging spectrometer has the advantage of high luminous flux, high signal noise ratio, wide field of view, small cubage and light weight.
