Data acquisition and processing of spectrum measurement achieved by virtual instrument

The newly developing computer based instrument virtual instrument is studied and is introduced into the spectrum measuring system so as to enhance its data acquisition and processing ability. Using the graphical programming environment LabVIEW as the developing platform, virtual instruments to be used in the spectrum measurement and its data processing has been developed. Practical spectrum characteristic measurement of light source and light detector indicated that through the use of virtual instrument which is constructed on LabVIEW, the automation level and accuracy as well as the efficiency of spectrum measurement has been improved. It is believed that virtual instrument will be used more and more in the opto electronic measurement.
