Parameters research on the torsion response control of structures using magnetorheological-circular tuned liquid column dampers

The control performance of magnetorheological circular tuned liquid column dampers(MR-CTLCD)to torsional response of structure excited by ground motions is investigated.Based on the motion equation of the MR-CTLCD-structure system,the optimal control parameters of MR-CTLCD are given through some derivations supposing that the ground motion is a stochastic process.The influence of systematic parameters on the structural equivalent damping ratio and frequency ratio are analyzed for purely torsional vibration.The effect of systematic parameters on the structural vibration absorber factor in torsional direction is studied for torsional vibration.The results show that the MR-CTLCD can effectively decrease torsional response of structure.And the MR-CTLCD is an effective torsional response control device.
