Smooth response analysis of an isolated structure with a Maxwell damper

Smooth response analysis of an isolated structure with a Maxwell damper was carried out systematically. The motion equation of an isolated structure with a Maxwell damper was established,and then the upper structure was expanded according to the first mode. The structural equation of motion was converted to a first-order state equation. The displacement and velocity response of the isolation layer relative to the ground,the displacement and velocity response of the upper structure relative to the isolation layer,and the exact solution of damping force response variance in stationary white noise excitation were obtained using the complex modal method. An example was given. The example showed that damping effect of an isolated structure with a Maxwell damper was better.
