Construction Chinese Cabbage (Brassica rapa L.) Core Collection and its EST-SSR Fingerprint Database by EST-SSR Molecular Markers

Applying four sets of primer combinations to analyze the 686 Chinese cabbage accessions which originate from 1 900 accessions. Constructed Chinese cabbage germplasm resource core collections and form its EST-SSR fingerprint database. Four primer combinations constituted by thirteen EST-SSR primer pairs are applied to screen 686 Chinese cabbages (Brassica rapa L.) accessions, and 158 alleles are generated. The core collection is composed of 168 accessions which only represents 8.8% of the 1 900 original germplasm resource, but has 100% polymorphism. The core collection contains typical sorts of varieties with early, middle and late autumn growing habits from the most ecological regions. The EST-SSR fingerprint database constructed for the core collection includes information for every accession, which will be valuable for variety breeding and gene bank organization. EST-SSR marker combination are valuable and informative to construct Chinese cabbage core collection and fingerprint database.
