Trial System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and its prospect in Guangxi

HE Ying-fei, JIAN Feng, OU Shan-sheng, HUANG Shao-jun, LIN Li, CEN Yue-xiu (Guangxi Agricultural Professional Technology College, Nanning 530007)  
Based on the comparative test of SRI model in the present conditions of Guangxi, the potentiality of increasing yield of the model in the province has been considered as high as in other countries tested with the same model before. In the trial, the SRI model with 30 × 30 planting standard was significant in increasing yield, and the yields increased over the models of conventional seedling-broadcast cultivation and setting with dry raising seedling cultivation by 17.46% and 22.95%, respectively. Furthermore, using organic fertilizer is strengthened in SRI model, which will be helpful for the amelioration of medium and low -yield fields and for the sustainable development of rice production in Guangxi.
