Effects of Different Scion Grafting on Healing Rate and Scion Growth of Chinese Fir

We studied the effects of different scion grafting on the healing rate and scion growth of Chinese fir to provide technical reference for grafting Chinese fir in seed orchard. Results showed that the average graft survival rate was 90.78 %,with top-bud(93.11 %) and lateral-bud(88.44 %). Different scion grafting had significant impacts on grafting survival rate.Different clones grafting had no significant effect on healing rate,but showed extremely significant effect on scion growth. Different scion grafting significantly affected healing rate and scion growth,with better performance on top-bud than on lateral-bud. Healing rate had a significant effect on scion growth. Scions grew well after healing completely, but obviously not so well with 1/2 healing and 1/3 healing; there was no obvious difference in scions between 1/2 healing and 1/3 healing. The curve regression relationship between healing degree and scion growth was significant.
