EFFECT OF Ge~(4+) ON LUMINESCENCE IN ZnWO_4: Ge~(4+)

Single crystals of ZnWO_4~2 Ge~(4+) with different doping concentrations have been grown under laboratory condition.The absorption spectrum for ZnWO_4~2Oe~(4+) single crystals shows that there is a strong absorption band at 323nm, which improves the effect of luminescence. The excitation spectrum of ZnWO_4~2Oe~(4+) single crystals consists of the bands of 405, 450 and 465nm.ZnWO_4~2Oe~(4+) single crystal is an excellent scintillator material with 14.9% energy resolution. It can be used as scintillation material in radiation detector or X-ray rsceiver.
