THE DIVERSIFICATION OF ATRIAL MYOCYTEIN ACTION POTENTIAL IN PATIENTS WITH ATRIAL FIBRILLATION

Objective:To research the changes in ion channels by investigating the diversification on action potential duration(APD) in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF).Methods:By using conventional intracellular microelectrode technique to record action potentials in atrial myocyte in vitro,and observe the diversification on APD in patients with AF.Results:APD,action potentials at 50% and 90% of repolarization(APD50,APD90) were significantly shorter than those in the controls(P0.05).Conclusion:The cut down of APD was related to the changes of ion channels in atrial myocyte,in particular those which can affect the action potential repolarization,such as changes in potassium and calcium channels which affect the action potential repolarization.
