Optical design of a triple-waveband hybrid system

A new optical design of triple-waveband hybrid imaging system over the visible,MWIR and LWIR wavebands by combining reflective,refractive and harmonic diffractive elements was presented in this paper.The primary mirror of Cassegrain configuration was used as optical aperture for non chromatic and light weight,and the second mirror separates the IR bands transmitted and the visible band reflected.Using harmonic DOE and Schupmann configuration,the chromatic aberration of both IR bands was corrected by single material-Germanium.With secondary imaging form,the cold stop efficiency of IR bands was 100%.The triple-waveband lens system is powerful in providing diffractive-limited performance on light and compact configuration.
