The principle and application for transmission photo-thermal lens technique

Transmission photo-thermal lens technique is a progress.The basic principle and experiment setup for the transmission photo-thermal lens technique is presented,which is adopted to measure the weak absorption of optical glass and optical thin films.The principle has been simulated by Matlab.The weak absorption of K9 glass and optical thin films coated on K9 glass has been tested.The results show that the transmission photo-thermal lens technique is a highly sensitive thermal wave method,and the highest sensitivity can reach 0.1ppm.Defects in thin films can be detected by this setup as well.
