The Ecological Chain of Homestead Heritages in Modern Tourism——Hidden Crisis in Tourism Development of Xiushui Village, Guangxi

PENG Zhao-rong(Xiamen University, Xiamen 361005, China)
With the case of ecological tourism development of Xiushui Village of Fuchuan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as an example, this paper tries to illustrate the potential damage of modern ecological tourism to the local homestead ecology. It also reflects the conflicts and challenges encountered by modern tourism in rural societies. Ecological tourism means recreation in an ecologically better environment for the travelers while to the tourism destinations, problems may arise, particularly in developing countries. Such modern tourism achieved by money and power might transform the "natural ecology" to "artificial ecology".
