Performance of TGH-3Q COS hydrolysis catalyst at ambient and low temperature

The kinetic behavior of TGH-3Q carbonyl sulfide (COS) hydrolysis catalyst was studied. Experiment showed that the modified catalyst exhibited high activity and anti-oxygen-poisoning ca-pacity at temperature range of 40-180℃. The catalyst has been successfully used in process gas purification in ammonia and methanol plants, with service life of over three years. According to the result obtained by using non-gradient micro-reactor and chromatograph, intrinsic rate of the hy-drolysis reaction may be expressed as follows:Whereas apparent rate for large granulas is as follows:Tolerance of the catalyst to poisoning is intimately related to su1fur/sulfate deposit on it. Ki-netic model of deactivation by oxygen poisoning was given on basis of the serioparallel mechanism suggested.
