Advances in researches in nickel-based methanol carbonylation catalysts

ZHU Yu, ZHANG Ning, LUO Lai-tao (Institute of Applied Chemistry, Nanchang University,Nanchang 330047,Jiangxi China)  
Latest advances in nickel-based methanol carbonylation catalysts were reviewed. Non-rhodium non-halogen catalytic systems represent the trends in renovation of methanol carbonylation techniques, which eliminate use of costly rhodium and addition of iodide promoter and avoid the problems of equipment corrosion, iodine recovery and separation of the catalyst.
