Catalytic wet oxidation of imidacloprid pesticide wastewater

Catalytic wet oxidation of imidacloprid pesticide wastewater were studied on a 2 L autoclave. Influences of temperature,nitrate and copper-cerium oxides catalysts were investigated. The results showed that the appropriate temperature was 190 ℃. Copper nitrate exhibited higher COD removal efficiency for imidacloprid pesticide wastewater, while existing the problem of leaching of Cu~(2+) or Ce~(4+). Cu/Ce catalysts prepared by co-precipitation exhibited better activity than that of copper nitrate or cerium nitrate.Some measures for controlling leaching of Cu~(2+) and Ce~(4+) and optimizing reaction conditions and design and preparation of the catalysts were discussed.
