THE INFLUENCE OF DEEP EXCAVATION ON ADJACENT METRO TUNNEL IN SOFT GROUND

Based on the theoretical studies on soft ground strain field induced by the deep excavation, and the monitored deformation of the adjacent metro tunnel, the vertical settlement and the horizontal movement of the tunnel line, and the deformation of the tunnel ring is analyzed. The study results show that on one hand, the displacement of the soil is to a certain extent counteracted by the tunnel owing to the stiffness of the tunnel, on the other hand, the counteraction further caused the tunnel deformation. The conclusion above was drawn from the monitored results of the surveyed tunnel convergence and the opening gap of the joint in the tunnel segments.
