RETROFITTING AND STRENGTHENING OF CONCRETE COLUMNS WITH FRP:A STATEOF-THE-ART REVIEW

Fiber reinforced polymers(FRP) have been used extensively in the retrofitting and strengthening of concrete structures.A review of state-of-the-art of retrofitting and strengthening of columns with FRP is presented which focused on several aspects including different FRP materials and construction methods,loading type in the test,section shape of column,strength/ductility and failure modes of columns after being retrofitted or strengthened.The research results and achievements are discussed.In the end,some studies that should be developed in the future are put forward.
