EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF LIGHT-WEIGHT FOAMED CONCRETE WITH GLASS FIBER REINFORCEMENT

In order to study the effects of alkali-resistant glass fiber on the mechnical properties of light-weight foamed concrete,compression tests,tensile splitting tests and flexural strength tests( three-points) were carried out on the specimens with the wet density of 700 kg/m3. And the specimens had four kinds of length and different fiber contents. After that,a large number of test data were analyzed. The results showed that for the four sets of lightweight foamed concrete,the unconfined compressive strength,the splitting tensile strength and the flexural strength first decreased and then increased with the increase of fiber content. After adding the glass fiber,the flexural strength of light-weight foamed concrete increased the most,the splitting tensile strength increased the second,and the unconfined compressive strength increased the least. Light-weight foamed concrete showed its brittleness both adding fiber and without fiber,but the toughness of lightweight foamed concrete could be improved obviously after adding fiber.
