TEST AND ANALYSIS ON SEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF LOW-RISE STEEL-ENCASED REINFORCED CONCRETE SHEAR WALLS

To improve the seismic behavior of low-rise reinforced concrete (RC) shear walls, low-rise steel-encased reinforced concrete (SRC) shear walls with section steel skeletons embedded in are presented and tested. It is found that the low-rise SRC shear walls are much superior to low-rise RC shear walls in seismic behavior. As a result, the calculating method of shear strength and the restoring force model for dynamic analysis are suggested.
