Research on Quadratic Surface Fitting for Light-pen Visual Detection System

The composition and measuring procedure of the light-pen visual detection system is presented.In industry area,measurement data must be convert to surface,quadratic surface is often the situation.This paper proposes a normal based initial parameter estimate algorithm,and by means of the concept of Faithful-Distance and Non-linear Least Square approach,the geometric parameters of object that is recovered.Experiments based on real object data verify the feasibility of the light-pen visual detection system.
