Safety and efficacy of inhaled corticosteroid in patients with bronchiectasis and bronchial asthma

Objective To explore the safety and efficacy of inhaled corticosteroid in patients with bronchiectasis and bronchial asthma. Methods 86 cases of bronchiectasis and bronchial asthma cured in Department of respiratory medicine of our hospital from February 2016 to February 2017 were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in control group were treated with conventional western medicine symptomatic treatment, and patients in observation group were treated with two beclomethasone dipropionate(BDP) inhalation therapy on the basis of control group. The clinical efficacy, pulmonary function improvement, blood routine change and airway hyperresponsiveness of the two groups were compared. Results The clinical effective rate of the observation group was 93.02%, which was obviously higher than that of the control group with 74.42%, and there was a statistical difference between the two groups(P 0.05). The FEV1, PEF, FVC and FEV1/FVC in the observation group were significantly improved compared with the control group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P 0.05). After treatment, the WBC count, neutrophils, lymphocytes and eosinophils in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and there was a statistical difference between the two groups(P 0.05). After treatment, the airway resistance(Raw), airway conductance(Gaw) and airway hyperresponsiveness(BHR) of the observation group were significantly improved compared with the control group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P 0.05). Conclusion Inhaled corticosteroid has a good effect in bronchiectasis and bronchial asthma. It can significantly improve airway inflammatory response, enhance pulmonary ventilation function, reduce airway resistance and high reactivity. It has less adverse reactions, and positive clinical significance.
