THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE RADIATION AND CLIMATE IN QINGHAI-XIZANG PLATEAU REGIONS DURING AUGUST 1982 TO JULY 1983

The characteristics of the solar radiation in Qinghai-Xizang Plateau regions during August 1982 to July 1983 are clarified by using the observed data of the solar radiation on Qinghai-Xizang Plateau during above period. They are as follows: (1) The global radiation is strong and it will effect on the seasonal variation of the atmospheric circulation. (2) The variation of the surface albedo has concern with the nature and intensity of the precipitation, surface vegetation and so on. In winter the albedo is large and in summer the albedo is small, the seasonal variation is clear. (3) The effective radiation on the plateau is larger than the plain and the annual total on the plateau close to the value of the tropical desert. (4) The net radiation on the plateau is smaller and the plateau region is one of the regions where there is a low value of the net radiation. (5) The surface heating fields act as heat sink during some period in winter on the middle part and northern part of the plateau, the heating fields act as heat source on rest regions and during another season. (6) The solar ultraviolet on the plateau is very strong, the annual total is more than 63 kalocal/cm2, the ratio of the solar ultraviolet to the global radiation is about 4.0% and the instantaneous maximum reachs to 0.100 cal/cm2.min.
