THE CLIMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF SURFACE HEATING FIELDS OVER THE QINGHAI-XIZANG PLATEAU

Xu Guochang Li Dongliang Chen Liping (Lanzhou Institute of A rid Meteorology)  
Using the 25 years (1961-1986) data set of 60 observation stations over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau , the intensity of the Plateau surface heating fields is calculated according to regression eguations of Ji(1986) and their climatic characteristics are analysed. It is found that their values are only 71 percent of that given by Ye(1979) and the average departures of surface heating eguations of 2 station (Yushu and Rikaze) can represent roughly that of the whole of the Plateau by Empircal Orthogonal Function Analyses and calculations of load values. They have remarkable quasi-3 years, 5 years and 11 years periods and persistences in winter and spring.
