The Radiation Characteristic of a Lightning Return Stroke Channel

Spectra of lightning return strokes had been obtained by Slit-less spectrograph in Shandong.Channel temperature and electron density are calculated according to the information of lightning spectra.The radiation mechanism of lighting channel is analyzed.Pinch effect of lightning channel plasma is discussed,and from this pinch spot is deduced as the main radiant point of X-ray in the process of lighting.The differences between lightning channel and plasma channel produced by laser in the atmosphere is discussed.
