Comparative Analyses on Radiation Characteristics in Different Areas over the Tibetan Plateau

Using the data observed at the stations of BJ and NPAM of CEOP/CAMP-Tibet(Coordinated Enhanced Observing Period(CEOP) Asia-Australia Monsoon Project(CAMP) on the Tibetan Plateau),Qomolangma Station for Atmospheric and Environmental Observation and Research,Chinese Academy of Sciences(QOMS/CAS),Nam co Station for Multisphere Observation and Research,Chinese Academy of Sciences(NAMOR/CAS) and Southeast Tibet Station for Alpine Environment Observation and Research,Chinese Academy of Sciences(SETS/CAS) in 2007,the diurnal and monthly variation characteristics of surface radiation and surface albedo in these areas over different landscapes are analyzed.The results indicate that downward shortwave radiation determined by solar altitude has obvious diurnal and monthly variations.The monthly variation of upward shortwave radiation is in accord with the annual variation of global radiation,and upward shortwave radiation in some months is higher than that in other months due to the snow on the Plateau and the high albedo during full year.Upward shortwave radiation at BJ station is mostly influenced by surface albedo,and global radiation plays a more important role for that at QOMS/CAS and SETS/CAS.Downward longwave radiation has basic seasonal variation,and that is the highest in summer(from June to August) and the lowest in winter(from December to January).Upward longwave radiation is almost the highest in summer and the lowest in winter,and the monthly variation is in accord with the annual variation of surface temperature.The net radiation variation on clear day for each season in different areas over the Tibetan Plateau is obvious.And the net radiation of NPAM and SETS/CAS stations for four seasons are all higher than that of other stations because of the better cover of surface vegetation.The diurnal variation curves of surface albedo at NPAM station、 QOMS/CAS and NAMOR/CAS present typical "U " shape,but the curves shape at BJ and SETS/CAS stations is more complicated.The monthly surface albedo during full year of SETS/CAS is lower than that of other stations and stable,and the monthly variation of surface albedo at other stations is obvious.
